Symphoria Performs for LCSD Third-Graders
Thursday, October 20, 2016
Some frightening and fun sounds filled the Liverpool High School Auditorium recently, but it wasn’t coming from the school’s students.
On October 19, Liverpool Central School District third-graders had the chance to attend a special Symphoria concert at LHS. The orchestra performed several Halloween-themed selections while also introducing students to instrument families through narration, demonstration and humor.
Programs in the Arts for Children (PAC) sponsored Symphoria’s performance. Made up of parent volunteers, PAC provides a full season of fine arts programming for LCSD elementary students. It also holds the annual Adventures in the Arts celebration that showcases elementary art and music.
Symphoria is one of only two musician-led cooperative orchestras in the United States. It is composed of a diverse group of talented musicians from around the world. For more about Symphoria, visit experiencesymphoria.org.
